DATE SETTING FOR YOUR VINTAGE OMEGA:

Caliber 353 and 355 – There is no quick set feature on these very early calendar calibers.

Date will advance by turning the hands every 24 hrs.

The date can be set forward or backward depending on the direction the hands are turn.

Turning the hands clockwise will allow you to set the date forward.

Turning the hands counter clockwise will allow you to set the date backward.

For instance, if the date is ahead by a few days it is better to counter clockwise turn the hands.

Caliber 502, 503, and 504 – There are two ways to setting the date for the following calibers.

You can set the date by turning the hands every 24 hrs for each date to advance.

Or, you can turn the hands until the date changes and then counter clock turn the hands to around 11pm.

From here, turn the hands back to 12 midnight and the date will change once more.

Keep doing this until you get to the correct date before setting the time.

Caliber 560, 561, 562, 610, and 611 – There are also two ways to setting the date for the following calibers.

You can set the date by turning the hands every 24 hrs for each date to advance.

Or, you can turn the hands until the date changes and then counter clock turn the hands to around 9pm.

From here, turn the hands back to 12 midnight and the date will change once more.

Keep doing this until you get to the correct date before setting the time.

 • Caliber 563, 564, 565, 750, 751, 752, and 613 – These are calibers with quick set date feature.

The quick set is activated each time you pull the crown out to the second position.  You will need to pull

and push back the crown for each date to advance once.  Please avoid using this quick set date feature when the time

is around 10pm to 2am position.  This is to avoid the quick set date corrector from interfering with the regular date

driving wheel.

BEFORE WEARING YOUR AUTOMATIC WATCH:

Before wearing your automatic watch for the first time or if you have it resting for over a day, it is best to give it an initial wind before wearing it.

The initial wind consists of 15 times hand wind to the crown which will give the watch a boost start.  If you’re someone who has an inactive occupation

(ex. Working on the computer) throughout the day, you may need to hand wind the watch every now and then to keep it running strong and accurate.

IS MY WATCH WATERPROOF?

Firstly, the term “waterproof” has been replaced with the term “water resistant” as it was very misleading.

People assumed that their watch can do anything under water or go to any dept.

In watch terminology, the meter depth is measure differently than what it actually says.  Vintage watch are considered to be 30m water resistance,

which means the watch cannot be emerge into water or shower with.  Washing your hands or out in the rain will do no harm to your vintage watch.

On a brand new watch, the required depth in order to swim with is 50m water resistance.   If you plan to swim or shower with a brand new watch,

it is recommended that the gasket gets replaced and have water pressure tested at least once a year.
